We spent quite a bit of time walking through the Luxembourg Gardens. They were just as beautiful and impressive as I had heard. When we first arrived there were only a few people, but within an hour it was packed with locals, tourists and students that were all spread out enjoying lunch.
The building was originally the palace of Marie de Medici and is now used as the Senate. The fountain was commissioned by Marie de Medici.
So pretty! Such good photos.
Thanks honey!
Gorgeous pictures Yvonne. We have not been there – only to the gardens at Versailles and of course the Tuileries garden but we will be sure to go next time. The array of statues is amazing. Besides French queens is Mary Queen of Scots, Beethoven, and Georges Sand. That may warrant a 2 day visit.
Did you feel a connection between Marie of Medici in Paris and the Medici fortress overlooking Cortona?
Getting packed but sorry we will miss each other.
Yes, these gardens were magnificent, could have stayed there all day! Have a safe trip and looking forward to reports on your adventures.
