Joshua Tree National Park

XimageimageimageimageimageimageimageWe headed out to see the Joshua Tree National Park for the first time ever today. We had driven by signs pointing towards it and always thought it might be fun to go see it and today was the day.

As we drove through Yucca Valley I must admit I was thinking it was a mistake as the landscape was getting pretty bad, which prompted me to rename it “Yucky Valley”. But after we had driven for a while into the park the landscape started to become more interesting. We stopped off at one of the points and did the about one and a half mile circuit trail to Hidden Valley area. At first it was so cold and windy we almost turned back, but we kept on and when we got down into the valley it was so beautiful and sunny. This valley was so well hidden that it once was used to hide stolen cattle. What amazing scenery!! I was really glad we made the trip, the rock formations are magnificent. I am posting a few photos to give you an idea but they truly don’t do it justice.
